Hellooo guys! It's me again Nayla Zafira.
How are youu? I hope you guys are always happy and fine.
So for today's blog, I will explain to you about pronouns.



There are many types of pronouns and I will explain four of them.
The four pronouns I will explain are subject pronoun, object pronoun, possessive adjective/determiner, and possessive pronoun.

I will explain it through the video below, so don't forget to watch it!

Practice 1

Use correct subject pronouns. See the words in brackets.

Example: ___ often reads books. (Lisa)

Answer: She often reads books.

1)          is dreaming. (George)

= He is dreaming.

2)    __ is green. (the blackboard)
= It is green.

3)          are on the wall. (the posters)

= They are on the wall.

4)          is running. (the dog)
= It is running.

5)         are watching TV. (my mother and I)

= We are watching TV.

6)          are in the garden. (the flowers)
= They are in the garden.

7)          is riding his bike. (Tom)
= He is riding his bike.
 

8)          is from Bristol. (Victoria)

= She is from Bristol.

9)         has got a brother. (Diana)
= She has got a brother.

10)        Have got a computer (Mandy and I)

= We Have got a computer.

 

Practice 2
Change the underlined words into a correct object pronoun!

1) The teacher always gives the students homework.

= The teacher always gives them homework.

2) I am reading the book to my little sister.
= I am reading the book to her.

3) The boys like Sally.

= The boys like her.

4) My father is writing a letter to John.
= My father is writing a letter to him.

5) I don’t know the answer.

= I don’t know it.

6) Sally is going to Anne.
Sally is going to her.

7) Open the window, please.

= Open it, please.

8) Can you tell the people the way to the airport, please?
= Can you tell them the way to the airport, please?

9) The books are for Peter.

= The books are for him.

10) Can you help my brother and me, please?
= Can you help us, please?

Practice 3
Fill the blanks with the correct possessive adjective!

1) Joanie is (John and Nancy) ______ daughter.

= Joanie is their daughter.           

2) Is this Jane’s dog? Yes it is ______ dog.
= Is this Jane’s dog? Yes, it is her dog.

3) The dog is chasing ______ own tail.

= The dog is chasing its own tail.

4) Pedro and Isabel are Spanish. ______ family is from Spain.
= Pedro and Isabel are Spanish. Their family is from Spain.

5) Juan is not at school. ______ father took him to the doctor.

=  Juan is not at school. His father took him to the doctor.

6) Beatriz is married. She showed us ______ ring today.
= Beatriz is married. She showed us her ring today.

7) Jose and Maria are dancers. ______ older brother is a singer.

= Jose and Maria are dancers. Their older brother is a singer.


8) Pepe and I have an English class together. ______ teacher is Ms. Smith.

= Pepe and I have an English class together. Our teacher is Ms. Smith.


9) My family has a dog. ______ dog’s name is Lady.

= My family has a dog. Our dog’s name is Lady.


10) The teacher told me not to bring ______ cell phone to school.

= The teacher told me not to bring my cell phone to school.

Fill the blanks with the correct possessive pronouns!

1) Jane has already eaten her lunch, but John saving … until later
. = Jane has already eaten her lunch, but John saving his until later.

2) Siska’s mobile needs to be fixed, but … is working.

= Siska’s mobile needs to be fixed, but mine is working.

3) I have a computer. That computer is ….
= I have a computer. That computer is mine.

4) We gave them telephone number, and they gave us … .

= We gave them telephone number, and they gave us theirs.

5) My pencil is broken. Can I borrow … ?
= My pencil is broken. Can I borrow yours?

6) I have a dog. That dog is … .

= I have a dog. That dog is mine.  

7) She has a cat. That cat is … .
= She has a cat. That cat is hers.

8) We have a car. That car is … .

= We have a car. That car is ours.

9) They have a bike. That bike is … .
= They have a bike. That bike is theirs.

10) He has a key. That key is …  

= He has a key. That key is his.
