↳ *Narrative Text Definition* ༉‧₊˚✧
Narrative Text is an imaginative story to entertain people. Some people also say that Narrative Text is a story with complication or problematic events and it tries to find the resolutions to solve the problems.

Now let's get into the main point of this blog!

══✿══╡The Lion and The Mouse ╞══✿══

The Lion and The Mouse ~ English Short Story for Kids

Orientation = the opening paragraph where the characters of the story are introduced.

In a faraway jungle, there was a lion who became the king. All animals were afraid of him though he was very strong, cruel, and had no fear of everything. His name was so famous and even some animals who had never seen him before were also afraid because they heard the story of that king. The mouse was the one who had never seen the king before and the mouse was so curious to see him.

Complication = where the problems in the story developed.

One day, the mouse came to the cave which became the place for the king to sleep. But at that time the king was not there yet. The mouse entered the cave silently, looked around and he saw the large footprint of the king. The mouse began to scare and he wanted to get out quickly but too late, he heard the roar of the king that had already came into the cave. The mouse was very nervous and he hid behind the stone. The lion was coming and sleeping near the entrance of the cave.

His body covered up all the way out and the mouse was trapped and could not find the gap to go outside. The mouse tried to creep on the wall and unfortunately, he fell down above the King’s body. The lion woke up and was so angry with the mouse. The mouse was so scared and said, “Oh my lord, forgive me for my curiosity about entering your cave. I did not mean to wake you up. I just want to know how great my king is. Please don’t kill me and I promise to give my best to assist you whichever way I can on one of the bad day you have.”

The lion roared and laughed at that mouse, “How can you help me, small animal? But I’ll let you go because it would be a shame for me to kill a small thing like you.” The mouse said, “Thank you my lord for your kind heart and I will never forget you.” After that, the mouse ran as fast as he could and he thanked God for saving his life.

One day, the Lion was walking in the jungle. He did not see that there was a hunter’s trap waiting for him. The lion step on the rope and suddenly he was hanged. The Lion was roaring loudly asking for help from all of the animals in the jungle but none of them could help him to release the bound of the rope at his leg.

Resolution = where the problems in the story are solved.

The mouse heard the roar and he knew that the king was in trouble. The mouse ran as fast as he could into the jungle where the king was trapped. The mouse said, “Oh my lord, don’t worry I will help you as fast as I can. I will break the rope that bonded you.” The mouse began to bite the rope quickly and in a while, the rope was broken and the King was free from the trap. The king was amused with the ability of that wonderful small mouse. “Nobody can do this except you, small mouse. I thank you for saving my life and for now I promote you as my brother.”

Reorientation = lesson from the story.

Since that, the mouse became the brother of the king and all the animals in the jungle respected him as the way they respected the king.

Practice 2 ✧˖*°࿐

A long time ago in East Java, there were two strong animals, Sura and Baya. Sura was a shark and Baya was a crocodile. They lived in the sea. They were friends, but when they were hungry, they did not want to share their food. They fought over it and never stopped fighting until one of them gave up.

One hot day, Sura and Baya were looking for food. Suddenly Baya saw a goat. “Yummy, this is my lunch,” said Baya. “No way! This is my lunch. You are greedy! I haven’t eaten for two days!” said Sura. Then Sura and Baya fought again. While they were fighting, the goat ran away.

After fighting for hours, Sura and Baya felt very tired. “I’m tired of fighting, Baya,” said Sura. “Me too,” said Baya. “We must stop fighting. Do you have any idea how?” “Yes, I do. Let’s separate our territory. I’ll live in the water and look for food in the sea. And you live on the land and in the river and look for food there. Do you agree?” asked Sura.“Hmm ... let me think about it. OK, I agree. From today, I will never go into the sea again. My place is on the land,” said Baya.

So they both lived in different places. But one day Sura was very hungry, and there was not much food in the sea. So he went to the land and looked for some food in the river. Baya was very angry when he discovered that Sura had broken the promise. “Hey, what are you doing here? This is my place. Your place is in the sea!” “But, there is water in the river, right? So, this is also my place!” said Sura. Then Sura and Baya fought again. Sura bit Baya’s tail. Baya did the same thing to Sura. He bit very hard until Sura finally gave up. He went back to the sea. Baya was very happy. He had his territory again. That was their last fight. But the place where they had fought was a mess. The conclusion for today's blog is an imaginative story to entertain people is Narrative Text. Or in another way to explain it Narrative Text is a story with complications or problematic events and it tries to find the resolutions to solve the problems. Narrative Text also has a generic structure there is, orientation, complication, resolution, and the optional part is reorientation. And that's all for today.
